What is yoga?

Simply put yoga is linking movement with breath.

Is yoga a religion?

No, yoga is a practice in which we use gentle poses and breathing exercises to open the body and calm the mind.

What are the benefits of yoga?

But I’m not flexible! How can I do yoga?

ANYONE can become more flexible. The type of yoga I do is extremely gentle and client centered depending on individual needs and goals.

What is Occupational Therapy (OT) ?

Occupational therapy practitioners have extensive medical training and knowledge to enable people of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping them promote health, and prevent—or live better with—injury, illness, or disability.

Occupational therapy assesses the individual as a whole, mental and physical health, and looks at how pain or injury affects daily life.

What are some typical injuries OTs work with?

Lisa will perform a comprehensive, client centered assessment utilizing her clinical skills and medical knowledge to develop a treatment plan to help meet your goals. Whether you want to reduce pain, gain mobility/ flexibility, learn stress relieving techniques we will work together to help you get there!

We look at every aspect of daily life, physical and mental health, to promote wellness.

Lisa will educate you on an exercise plan and therapeutic techniques to help you FEEL BETTER.

You will be provided with handouts and extensive education on things to do at home to ensure success on your wellness journey.

What makes your experience/ training different from other yoga teachers and other OTs?

It’s rare to find a combination of yoga teacher and rehabilitation professional. I offer yoga therapy as a component of my occupational therapy practice. Medical knowledge and clinical expertise help me to teach yoga in a therapeutic and SAFE way. I am accustomed to working in a variety of rehabilitation settings to design individualized treatment plans.
